The wind whips through his cape as he surveys a neighbourhood that has seen better times. Seconds before Commissioner Gordon illuminated the BatSymbol - calling out to his best friend and ally. And the bars on the windows unlock from the inside, Tim! DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I had visited the spatch home page and saw the head tutorial (written by ). It looked so good, I thought I might use it for something. As I played with the ear part I saw how easy it was to make Batman's cowl. After playing around some more I decided to try and model the cape and cowl (all one piece). I used two spatch models; one for the mouth and one for the cape and cowl (so I can apply two different textures). The long part was modelling the city buildings. Using the reference option in Moray made it much easier, but the real coup was learning to use a grey scaled version of the brick textures as a bump map. This makes the bricks very realistic. The bat symbol is an object sitting in front of a spotlight, and a cone with a halo inside. The orange "city glow" is a rectangle with a gradient image map scaled very large (I tried various halos but never was happy). I'll happily answer any questions about the image....
