===== From kosh@nesys.com: Painfully familiar. I'll never forget the time I had locked my trash can lid down with coat hanger wire and a big spring. The racoon got into it, and couldn't get out. Then things got interesting! ===== From castlewrks@aol.com: Animal eyes always glow when hit by light at night... the racoon should have had a red or green glow to them for maximum effect. Great image. ===== From agage@mines.edu: The metal on the cans looks a bit plastic. Not bad for 'things that go bump in the night' idea tho. ===== From jaime@ctav.es: Wow! Amazing... :o (I can't say nothing more with the mouth open, sorry!) ===== From dormammu@erols.com: Perfect Image. straight 20's. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Very nicely done, the only problem - the trash looks too clean (very hard to do dirty in raytracing!) :-) ===== From ice@teanow4pm.demon.co.uk: Great scene. It would make an enjoyable photograph too. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Excellent! ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Wow! This is an excellent snapshot, er, raytracing. I really like the single light source effect. It helps emphasize the utterly realistic startled/guilty look on the raccoon. Trash can texture looks like painted plastic instead of galvanized metal. I've made trash in a scene before, and you're right -- it is fun! Outstanding raccoon. ===== From uwe.post@gmx.de: fine idea. ===== From djconnel@flash.net: Very nice!!! This may be the best RDS image I've seen -- very nice modelling and scene composition! However, RDS seems to always result in a bit less texture sophistication than the layerered analytic representation provided by POV-Ray. Still, this is an excellent result!!! The scene is full of life and really represents the topic well. ===== From cfusner@enter.net: What a fantastic blend of good modelling, textures, and lighting. This is a superbly "believable" image, and reminded me of a racoon I took care of (briefly) as a kid. This is my personal favorite image for the round! ===== From r@client836b.globalnet.co.uk: Notable for modelling, originality ===== From r@dial-up30.webbernet.net: Excellent pic! Good story. I haven't gotten to say that enough this round. The raccoon is great. The pose and expression are exemplary. The trash is outstanding, especially the bag texture. The only downsides are that the street is a bit too flat. The road texture needs some displacement or at least some normal fiddling. There are some angle artifacts on the trash can. A couple of spots show aliasing, from jpeg conversion perhaps? The trashcan texture seems to be halfway between galvanized and plastic. Couldn't decide which it was meant to be. None of these significantly detract from the image. Good job. This comment by clem@dhol.com.
