===== From djconnel@flash.net: Nice image! The alien is very well done, and is nicely staged. The pose is excellent. However, I made a bit of a technical deduction from some of the details. The marble bases are conspicuously identical in texture. Also, the shuttle appears to be well above the altitude at which it would have jettisoned its engines. The chair is nicely done. The posters are just below legigable resolution -- they could perhaps use better antialiasing, or should have been rendered with simpler font. Dan ===== From castlewrks@aol.com: Is that what humanity will eventually look like? The creature is very good. However, it adds a distant sadness to the scene, belittling the supposed great achievements of man. Where are the alien children sitting in rapt awe of such wonders? Instead your alien appears to be sleeping, bored by such things. ===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: Interestingly different. I like the alien, and the subtle colouring used throughout most of the scene. ===== From kaustin@tgn.net: Unless the Alien is supposed to reflect the engineering associated with animatronics, this image does not fit into the category. The space shuttle and wheel are a bit overexpected (not the mention that the wheel is not an engineering achievement) ===== From chipr@niestu.com: That's my question, too--what's that alien doing there? Seems gratuitous. Nice modeling. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Ok, I'm stumped. What IS the alien doing here? Nice textures all over. Great alien. I like the rendering in the poster. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: A very nice image! I think the atmospheric effects are detracting too much from the scene. But, you may have set them that high to mask inconsistencies or details that you didn't have time to implement. The only other thing I can suggest is to rework the paper resting on the floor. It's coming off a bit too stiff. ===== From ethelm@bigfoot.com: Excellent image. Great sense of humour! ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Excellent modelling, especially the Shuttle seems very close to the original. What is the combustion that you speak of? I cannot see it anywhere. The bright orange spots in the wall poster? They rather look like part of the background map. ===== From c_et_d@club-internet.fr: Usualy, i don't have a special fascination for the aliens, but the scene = is really good ; all, the idea, colors, light, the little fog... Nice = image ===== From lpurple@netcom.com: Good space shuttle model. Alien's feet are somewhat confusing. Color is washed-out near top of scene (indoor fog?) ===== From r@du158-248.ppp.algonet.se>: Nice work!!! I think the idea of an alien in the museum was different, but in a good way. Really nice modelled, I especially like the flames from the shuttle! Notable for modelling, lighting, originality, composition ===== From r@du158-248.ppp.algonet.se>: Best pic! Deserves to win. Notable for originality ===== From r@dial-up11.webbernet.net>: The modelling of the components and the attention to detail in the individual parts of this image are excellent. I particularly like the floor and the poster. In a museum, the wheel may have been more dramatic if it was ancient, rusty and decayed. The concept of the image, however, is lacking. As it is, the alien is just an irrelevance. The alien, if you use one, should be be visibly reacting to the exhibits. He/she/it/they should be visibly scorning or laughing at our puny technology or gaping in awe at what we have done with it, not sitting on an illogically placed chair thinking/moping/dexitroboping. It should also have some sort of face or face-substitute to focus on. The bald unemphasized adjacency of the wheel and shuttle are also unlikely for a real museum. Despite these artistic quibbles, I like the image. ===== From r@bowerbird.cc.uq.edu.au>: Perhaps not so ambient, and spotlights on the wheel and the rocket? Notable for textures, modelling, originality, composition ===== From r@du31-4.ppp.algonet.se>: Like the theme of your pic. Great modelling, wish I had MAX too... Notable for textures, modelling, lighting ===== From r@sharry.demon.co.uk: Notable for textures, modelling, lighting, originality, composition
