COUNTRY: France WEBPAGE: http://www.mech.ed.ac.uk/~dom/ RENDERER USED: WinPov 3.02 TOOLS USED: sPatch, Texture Editor & Paint Shop Pro RENDER TIME: 2 hours 04 minutes 41 seconds HARDWARE USED: iP133, 96 Mb under Win95 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Can't you see? It's Christmas ... and the presents are waiting for the kids to wake-up. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: IN A TERRIBLE RUSH!!! Everything except the floor was modeled using sPatch (THE freeware i would bring with me on a desert island!), then each surface was exported as separate pov files. The textures where created in Texture editor (great shareware!) and applied to each surface in Winpov 3.02. The floorboards are nicely layed out with a couple of #while loops. A random generator is used for each board to offset the texture and apply small rotation. Without these rotation the floor looked too flat ... now it's more like it. A streched dent normal gives the groovy look of the varnish by breaking up reflections of the objects. The tricycle model was ready for a while but the scene was only started on december the 29th at around 11:00 p.m!! This explains a lot I guess. My plan was to put everything under the Xmas tree but that terrible lack of time didn't allow me to really get anything good enough out of LParser ... so I just put a few boxes around and rendered :-(
