===== From sonya_roberts@geocities.com: Nice image! Nicely creative use of a lot of resources; I especially like your idea of rendering the snakes out as a heightfield when you started experiencing scaling problems; I'll have to remember that solution for my own future use ;) ===== From jmg@gte.net: A more effective use of textures would make a big difference, I think. ===== From kazemir@pde.com: I like the idea, and the basic layout of the scene. I would have filled the stands with more people, or clustered them more, instead of an even distribution. ===== From bill.marrs@pureatria.com: The people in the stands are nicely details, but what are they sitting on? (looks like they are floating) ===== From jaime@ctav.es: MAGIC & ENTERTAINMENT ? ===== From lowellr@globaldialog.com: Perhaps the arena floor could have been textured better, otherwise not bad. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Obviously a lot of work went into this image. My favorite parts: the light cast by the fireball, and the blue cape. My least favorite parts: the featureless ground texture and the too-bright sky. I'd really like to see this image with a dark, foreboding (purple and orange!) sky. ===== From dick@buckosoft.com: Too many empty seats in the stands! ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Overall looks very boring. Too much wall with too little structure. And the spectators all seem very apatheetic. ===== From i_emackay@mountains.net.au: Ambitious but has an unfinished look. Might be better to put more work into fewer objects. ===== From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se: + The dwarven knight is good. - It looks as if all of the audience is looking straight forward. Maybe you should have turned their heads a bit. ===== From arcana@sinbad.net: A very interesting image, and a good sotry. :{) I would have liked to have gotten a bit of an explanation on how you saw this fit into the theme. I guess it's loosely tagged under the term "entertainment", but I would have liked to have seen a one-liner saying that. Comment: The brick pattern is a good cheat for walls seen from a great distance, but it fails when viewed close-up, as in the wall of your arena. The biggest problem when viewing it up close is the fact that the viewer can see that the grout is faked. ===== From bobfranke@halcyon.com: Try real stone blocks with a "while" loop instead of the brick texture. Great job on the hydra.
