COUNTRY: USA WEBPAGE: http://www.access.digex.net/~justgus/ezekiel/ersbio.html RENDERER USED: Povray 3.0 (DOS) TOOLS USED: POVCad & PhotoShop RENDER TIME: 20 min HARDWARE USED: Pentium-133 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The wonderful Prof. Einstein as I imagine him in the afterlife: Surfing Gravity Waves! DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The accretion disk is a lathe, spline constructed based on a poster from NASA about black holes. Curve was done in POVCAD and the PTH file hand modified into a lathe. Everything else was done by hand. The picture of the Prof. was him riding a bicycle! I removed the bike and the background in Photoshop, and made a chromakey of him. The board is a simple CSG. The force lines are a set of toruses. The jets are the most interesting thing here, a pair of cones with a cylindrical halo. I had GREAT plans for actually orbiting objects around a mathematically correct black hole, but I'm (again) outta time! (Does this happen to everybody?) I've included the orbital code I DID come up with in the archive, just in case anybody cares. It actually works! If I'd done what I wanted, the parse time would have been several hours and the trace would have taken about 30 minutes, just the opposite of almost everything else I've ever done with POV! Not the greatest thing I've ever done in POV, but probably the funest! Emory
