HARDWARE USED: Pentium 133, 16MB RAM DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS FILE WAS CREATED: After scrapping alot of ideas, I was bored one day while working and decided that it would be interesting to render the coffee cup sitting on my desk. After finishing that, I thought "Hey, why not my desk blotter too". Then It cam to me. Do a scene from behind the teacher's desk. And since no teacher's desk is complete without an apple, I had to create the apple. I tried to model an apple several times, but was never very pleased with the results, I also tried finding an existing model. But I was never happy with the way they looked. So I sat and looked at an apple I had at home (it happened to be a Rome apple, my favorite). I noticed that it was really nothing more than a torus with the minor radius being greater than the major radius. The image map for the globe and the maps on the wall was taken from a website and I thought they worked VERY nicely. The tree was actually a 3ds model I had converted, modified, and reparsed. For the final render I used AA .1 with the Radiosity set at Final. Though I cannot say that radiosity in this case made much difference. I hope everyone enjoys the image as much as I enjoyed creating it.
