JPGFILE: dtschool.jpg ZIPFILE: dtschool.zip RENDERER USED: Povray for Windows 3.01 TOOLS USED: Moray 2.5b, Paint Shop Pro for image conversion and image maps RENDER TIME: Approx. 2 hrs. HARDWARE USED: DX-4 100 mhz. IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A one room schoolhouse circa 1861 - 1870. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I used mostly primitives and one raw object (the apple). The portrait of Lincoln, the flag (50 stars the only one I could find but not noticeable from the distance) the alphabet and the math on the board are image maps. I created the oil lamps from basic primitives, the lamp globe is a lathe object. The lamps came out quite nicely but it's a shame they are so small and far away as a lot of detail is lost. The lamp brackets are patterned after some antique brackets in my grandfather's house. They each have a mirror reflector to reflect light back into the room. The desks are also original. They are patterned after some antique school desks a neighbor had right down to the ink bottles (also not all that noticeable from a distance.)
