TITLE: Kidnapped! NAME: John VanSickle COUNTRY: US of A EMAIL: evilsnack@hotmail.com WEBPAGE: http://enphilsitor.users4.50megs.com/irtc.htm TOPIC: Classic Sci-Fi COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. RENDERER USED: POV-Ray 3.5 TOOLS USED: POV-Ray editor, LionSnake modeler, pencils, paper CREATION TIME: About 75 days HARDWARE USED: Athlon XP 2400 desktop & Celeron 2GHz laptop VIEWING RECOMMENDATIONS: 24 Frames per second ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: An escaped killer tomato means trouble. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: This entry marks the second time I've used a modeler for one of the major models in an IRTC entry. The aliens were done using my new posable mesh modeler, which now has the ability twist the end of each posable part (needed to get the eyes straight). The root scene file has a snippet of code which logs each frame (whether test or final) as it's being rendered. Modeling and layout involved over 300 stills rendered at 640x480 and nearly 600 stills rendered at 800x600. Test animations, and "final" frames that were redone, added up to over 11000 frames, and the final animation has 2281 frames. Altogether there were over 4 gigabytes of rendered images.
