TITLE: Rusty's Nightmare WEBPAGE: http://users4.50megs.com/enphilistor/irtc.htm COUNTRY: US of A RENDERER USED: MegaPOV-Ray 3.1g for Windows. TOOLS USED: Text editor, CMPEG, pencils, paper HARDWARE USED: K6-2 @ 300MHz, 96 Megs of RAM CREATION TIME: I got started on this project as soon as the topic was announced. Final rendering was complete on 15 July 2001. VIEWING RECOMMENDATION: Full color, 24 frames per second. ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: Rusty has a disturbing dream. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: I typed out a bunch of scene code, rendered the frames, and slapped them together with an MPEG compiler, just like I always do. I had originally intended a different kind of arm for Joe, but I couldn't get things to look as cool as I wanted. So I did what you see here. The red cross is not hard-coded into the model, but can be replaced with any square graphic if I were to re-use the model. The animation you see here was not the original conception; due to some serious attacks of Real Life I only had about six weeks to work on this, and had to drop three or four shots (getting lauged at by friends, falling into a pit, waking up, usw). The distortion at the edges of the view is accomplished by adding a normal statment to the camera. Very simple.
