TITLE: Memories COUNTRY: Germany WEBPAGE: RENDERER USED: Raydream Studio 5.02 TOOLS USED: Adobe Photoshop, Aldus TextureMaker, Adobe Premiere CREATION TIME: zillions of hours (the zoom onto the baby alone took 60 hrs. complicated shadows there) HARDWARE USED: Apple Macintosh G4 VIEWING RECOMMENDATIONS: As this has been created on the Mac it might seem dark on Windows-machines. If so, please tweek your brightness... ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: I just hope it is clear what this has got to do with "transformation". just like last time i created footage to last for over 2 minutes: i have to start working on shorter scripts ;-) if this movie seems somewhat hurried: it is hard to get these under 5MB without compromising to much on quality DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: -all the movements of the characters use the bonebender extension to raydream. not really a brilliant bones-system but there you are. -a few of the wood-textures were created in aldus texturemaker. amazing tool but since aldus sold only a few it was dropped. i recently found it on an archive-disk :-) -i always wanted to build a scene where something is written. i found no really elegant way in raydream to do this, but the result is ok, isn't it? -in the scene where the two bears meet on the hill i used the furrific extension to create grass on the hill. looked good but was not necessary for the story. cutting room floor material :-( -did you notice the moving curtains in the baby-scene? one of those nice effects that you hardly notice in the finished film -i like the lighting in some scenes (if i might say so myself). a very, very good book on this topic is "lighting & rendering" by jeremy birn. i learned a lot reading this. (and still do ;-) good luck everyone
