It may take a few times threw to see everything. Let your eyes go free. ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: This is one way of viewing the songs and bands that impacted the early and mid development of rock and roll. Some of the objects or creatures are very subtle, others are obvius. The whole animantion goes in aproximate chronological order. Some things are not in exact order. A lot of emphasis was put into details, but if you too close at some of the things you see you may see things tht were not intended to be there. The crickets got rock and roll going so the cricket landing on the rock got it going. The cricket was made to be very simple, just like the original band. Then of course just as the got going they died, but not after almost diing earlier like when the band was having disputes. Later you see a picture with a blue island on it. This represents Elvis’s Blue Hawaii. It actually looks a lot like the island of Hawaii. Then the creature goes sufing on board with the American colors on it. This is the Beach Boys, but they were missing something in this case waves. As the creature comes out it gets starteled by the arival of a beatle (The Beatles), much like how they stunned America. Notice that around this time Elvis’s symbol disapears, dies. The cannon ball is from a line in Bob Dylin’s Blowin in the wind. I beleve the line is when the cannon balls stop flying. Then the camera return to the beatle were it gets a new coloring, representing the the Beatles transition starting with Sgt. Pepper. The backround has Staberry Feilds Forever. The the Beatles faded away when Lennin died. Then time goes back to Lucy in the Sky With Dimonds with celophane flowers of yellow and green towering over our heads and marmolade skies. After a pause Jefferson Airplane comes over head. When the camera comes back a strange door is there representing the Doors. Going threw the door to a new world is representitive of Break on Threw. On the other side the apple and the serpant are from the garden of eden which is a strech from Iron Butterfly’s In A-Gadda-Da-Vida. To clear things up a metalic butterfly flies by. Then the scene changes to what is sopposed to be a appartment, from Rolling Stone’s Get Off My Cloud. A pink creature representing Pink Floyd which gets off a cloud. Then The Rolling Stones come back again with there mouth symbol and yellow pills, from Mama’s Little Helper, in the corner. Then in the new scene there is Hotel California. Then Jimmy Hendrix’s Purple Haze with the purple ground fog. The camera then pans to a Stairway to Heaven. Finally a metalic airship for Led Zepplin. The title is an adaption from Shakspeare’s Romeo and Juliet with the line That which we call a rose By any other name would smell jst as sweet. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED:The hills were parabolas. The waves were just a bunch of bumps averaged and moving in different dirrections. The creature was a blob. The flower pedals were two clipped spheres. The jet turbulance was done with a bunch of sphere that moved out and random velocities. The door transition was done by using an image map of the garden of eden scene fit to match the door and animated. The snake was a bunch of clipped torusis with a reflective crackle texture. The apple was another blob. The squished Pink Floyd was done by rotating it and scaling it. The mouth was a torus with a little modification on it’s eqation. The tong was also a torus with a scalop wave normal. The Zepplin was done with about 2000 smooth triangles where the normal of each point on the same face was at the same place. The positions were done by rotating stuff. Since my POV was starting to act strange when the credits were made I just hand copied the last 192 frames from 8 original frames. To make the skies I used a sky sphere that came with POV Ray 3.0
