TITLE: A Trip between Space COUNTRY: United States of America RENDERER USED: PoV-Ray for Windows TOOLS USED: PoV-Ray for windows and Cmpeg. CREATION TIME: About a month worth of free time plus figuring out how to come up with an mpeg file. Actual computer work time: w1w.pov (85 frames) => 1:50:25 w2w.pov (100 frames) => 1:19:59 w3w.pov (20 frames) => 1:29:42 w4w.pov (20 frames) => 1:30:25 w5w.pov (100 frames) => 1:18:07 Mpeg encoding (410 frames) => 0:05:09 TOTAL => 7:33:47 VIEWING RECOMMENDATIONS: I suggest viewing it at original size to get the maximum detail, though it may be small. HARDWARE USED: 100 MHz Pentium ANIMATION DESCRIPTION: A trip between space in a pod, along the lines of a "Space Jump" or "Warp." DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: The animation was created entirely in PoV-Ray. It consists of five parts: 1. (w1w.pov) - The first part is the spinning object with the camera getting near to it. 2. (w2w.pov) - The second is the warp tunnel. 3. (w3w.pov) - The third is the last part of the tunnel where it gets bright. 4. (w4w.pov) - The fourth is the second half of the bright part where the bright turns back into the tunnel. 5. (w5w.pov) - The fifth is the tunnel again with different lighting. - Then, I copied the entire first portion pasted it on the end and reversed the order of the frames. The pod is a sphere with six spheres coming out of it. This whole object is rotating on all three axes. The tunnel itself is two cylinders spinning in opposite direction getting faster and faster as it moves along as well as brighter and brighter by increasing the ambient value of the cylinders.
