This game was entered the Becher Game 2003. The game was created using Dev-C++ and OpenGL, SDL and SDL_mixer libraries.

Keyboard Controlling

 

The key functions are described in the game help. The following keys are not described in the game help:

F11 - shows FPS (number of frames drawn per second)

F12 - makes a screenshot and saves it in the game folder (sequentially from screenshot0000.bmp)

space - pauses the game

F9 - minimizes the game (Linux only)
 

Joystick/gamepad control

 

The 1st and 2nd axis control the hero moving. The buttons 1, 2 and 3 mean fire, jump and magic.

Trouble-shooting

 

I want to disable music
Open the game's configuration file (Becher Rescue.cfg in the game folder (Windows 98/ME) or in C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data folder (Windows 2000/XP) or ~/.Becher Rescue.cfg (Linux)) and set the entry "set enablemusic" to 0.
 

Problems with sounds
Open the game's configuration file (Becher Rescue.cfg in the game folder (Windows 98/ME) or in C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data folder (Windows 2000/XP) or ~/.Becher Rescue.cfg (Linux)) and set entry "set 44khzsound" to 0.
 

Game is too dark on my display
Open the game's config file (Becher Rescue.cfg in the game folder (Windows 98/ME) or in C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data folder (Windows 2000/XP) or ~/.Becher Rescue.cfg (Linux)) and set entry "set gamma " to higher value.
 

Game is too slow
Try to set 16bit colors and lower resolution (640x480) in the configuration program (config.exe). If this fails open the game's configuration file (Becher Rescue.cfg in the game folder (Windows 98/ME) or in C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data folder (Windows 2000/XP) or ~/.Becher Rescue.cfg (Linux)) and set entry "set highdetails" to 0.
