When I saw the topic, I was a little desapointed because a lot of my pictures are  surrealist somewhere. It was a little like a free topic!
Then I have think than rather made a surrealist picture I could do a picture about surrealist.
So, I have think at the epitaph of André Breton tomb: "je cherche l'or du temps" (Something like: I search time's gold").
I wanted to do an old watch very old and a aircraft. My idea was that when you look at the picture, you don't know if the aircraft repair the watch or if the aircraft destroy the watch.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:
First, I made the background.It's not an outdoor scene because I wanted a special atmosphere like a dream scene. So I use sperical environnement with some fractals I have made.
After, I made the watch and the wall around. I use max primitives and modifiers. I have used a lot of time with textures. I wanted textures just a little transparent and I use displament with final render (MTD).
I have also played with the watch (I don't want a regular thing but a watch very aging).
Then I'm modeled the "airthing" . I wanted something like a zeppelin but more metallic. I used primitives and polygons modeling with modifiers,splines,etc
After that, I worked with the ligth to create the atmosphere.There are 8 lights in the scene.

I use photoshop for the name.

PS: Two problems with this pic:
one, the temperature outside was around 40°C!!! and my temperature CPU was 75°C and Max crashed often...
second,It's my first try with final render. It's good but too slow!
52 hours is too much for me!
