IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Image inspired by an ink drawing of Pierangelo Boog, a Swiss fantasy
illustrator
(published 1982 at Blender Verlag, Bremen, Germany).
As suggested by the title the image shows a temple dedicated to an unknown god
somewere
in a swamp in the heart of an unknown jungle.
Due to lack of memory (POV-Ray indicated approx. 350 MB peak memory usage and
approx.
110'000 frame level objects) and patience (a parse time of almost 9 min is more
than
long enough for my taste) I had to try to use as few plants as possible while
conserving
the atmosphere of the original. Therefore I increased the water area to minimise
need
for high detail foreground plants. Due to the same issue there is a scale
missmatch
between the temple and the figure on one side an the size of the leafes of the
bushes
and trees on the other side. However, increasing the recursion level in the
tree
generation would result in too big tree files for my PC to handle ...

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The temple is plain, hand coded CSG. The trees were made with Gill Tran's
excellent macro
MAKETREE.POV. Plants were placed on height fields using Mark Wagner's vegetation
object
placement include file VEGETATE.INC. Boat by Mick Hazelgrove (I know I'm lazy
but there
is so much great free stuff for POV-Ray on the net, why not use it ...)
