TITLE: A kid-made fortress COUNTRY: Japan WEBPAGE: none RENDERER USED: MegaPov version 0.7 TOOLS USED: Microsoft Photo Editor ( for converting the image to JPEG ) RENDER TIME: 1 hour 37 minutes HARDWARE USED: Pentium III 800MHz, Memory 128MB IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Maybe a little child lives in this house. And it may be a boy. He likes playing with blocks and he has made a big job. Yes! It's a fortress made of colorful blocks. At the beginning he was just piling up a few blocks. But the number of blocks gradually increased. And he was absorbed in making it before he was aware of it. At last, he has completed this fortress rising up to the sky. This fortress is strong and hardly pulled down because he made it with great care. Even though his mom cannot pull down it in spite of her enough power! It is surely a fortress. But the actual reason why she cannot do that is she has seen he was making his big work with trial and error. After finishing his work, he was gazing at his first sophisticated work with satisfaction for a while. Then he suddenly ran outside of this house and he is now playing beneath cherry trees in full bloom on a crisp and clear spring day. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: All objects in this image are made of basic CSG objects. I made some simple macros for the blocks. And the colors of the blocks are selected by rand() function from several colors I prepared. The room consists of one box which is hollowed by another box. The TV and the rack are I made before. It was when I tried to imagine how the room, where I would put a new rack, looked before I actually made a rack. And the rack in this image is almost the same as a rack I actually made. I made the chest for this image this time. To make these objects I used the same macros made for the blocks. I used woods textures provided by POV-Ray to apply to these furniture. The cherry tree planted outside is my first tree object. This object was made by recursive function(macro) call. ( The tree looks like a cherry tree, doesn't it? If you render this image without focal blur, you can see it more sharply. ) I used MegaPov function of motion blur only for the falling petals of cherry bossom into the room.
