TITLE: Chemistry 101 COUNTRY: USA WEBPAGE: N/A RENDERER USED: Lightwave 6.0B TOOLS USED: Rhino 3D 2.0 Beta, Photoshop 5 RENDER TIME: 1h 3min HARDWARE USED: PIII 500 Mhz, 128 Ram, Win98SE IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This is my first entry in the IRTC. When I saw the topic, the first thing that popped into my head was high school chemistry class, bunsen burners, beakers, etc. I searched the net for sample images to get ideas and you wouldn't believe how many different kinds of bunsen burners there are :) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: All of the objects were modelled from scratch either in Rhino or Lightwave's Modeller. The scene has 3 light sources, an overhead spotlight (as an actual light) and two point lights (that don't cast shadows to soften the scene). As I went along, I converted more and more of the textures to maps created in Photoshop rather than Procedurals to cut down on render time. The render settings were medium antialiasing and dithered motion blur (for the flame). Photoshop was also used for the file conversion and signature.
