IMAGE DESCRIPTION: 


   Here we see a scene of quiet and serenity. The children have made their
snowman
and have rushed of to home. The were kind enough (wink wink) to leave a lantern
for us to
see by. 
   Underneath the falling snow the snowman clutches his snow teddy bear in one
branchy
hand and enjoys the silence.



DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


   Snowman: Spheres, rocks, transparant bitmaps. Nothing out of the ordinary.
There is a
hat up there but the light didn't hit it right and I didn't want to mess with it
just
for a hat.
   Teddy Bear: I believe each scene needs something a little different to set it
apart. With
the teddy bear there the snowman takes on a whole new attitude. It's just
spheres and a few
rocks.
   Trees: Tricky and time consuming. Each set of branches are not actaully
branches in the traditional 
sense. They are spheres with a pine tree branch bit-map on them. Then, the
spheres are changed
to transparant and the branches look fantastic. They take forever to render but
it's worth it.
    Snow: Anyone that has been in a slow snowfall knows that this this what
snowflakes sometimes
look like, Big fat feathers. Espically under a bright light. The snow here is
100 spheres randomized
and then given a dense cloud-like texture.
   The Lamp: Nothing special. Created in Spatch. Two lathes and a torrus. There
is a slame in there,
but it's very tough to see.
   The snow on the ground: Height field. The texture was tough to get just right
but I think
that it worked out.

   I would have included the source file but it's three megs. Anyone that
