I starting RAY-TRACING less than a year ago, the only package I have used so far is POV-RAY and I think it's spectacular. I started work on this image less than 2 weeks ago, the first image I started to do for this contest was a Gazebo, but it wasn't working out, so I decided I would do a city-scene, then my girlfriend suggested that I do the CN-Tower, and that I put the Windows 95 flag on it. For those of you who aren't from the Toronto area, when Microsoft launched Windows 95, they hung a 500' banner (just like the one in the image) from the CN-Tower (which is 1815' high) , and it caused quite a bit of controversy, it could be seen by everyone as they drove into the city. Anyways, I thought it would be a cool thing to ray-trace... For any people out there who aren't too fond of Microsoft, you can always comment the flag out, or use a different .GIF as the image-map on the flag :) If you like this image, you can see a small sampling of other images I've done on my homepage http://www.interlog.com/~lene/home.html John. PS - One interesting thing about the image - There is no ground! :) ie - If you re-position the camera above the tower, looking down, The tower will look like it's floating in the sky, but hey, isn't that the magic thing about ray-tracing?
