DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS ANIMATION WAS CREATED: I decided late in the game to enter, probably only about 2-3 weeks ago. I've had great fun putting this together and hope it's sufficiently entertaining given the relative lack of time put into it. The title sequences are based on ABX's proximity macro which was posted to povray.text.scene-files. The landscape is based on the benchmark.pov scene file distributed with povray 3.5. I changed the sky to that used by myself in a 1999 animation and changed hopefully enough things to make it my own, including the formula for the pattern in the sand. The rocket is from my 1999 animation. Mime Man, my povray-based blob character, now has hair, removed shoulder growths, an object pattern for a chest logo, and can talk! The villain is another blob character. Yes, it's *supposed* to be creepy, but more like a competent villain cackling instead of someone with a mental disorder. I discovered at the last minute that I had 13 MB of material, so I had to arbitrarily shorten all the scenes without concern for aesthetics or plot.
